This 1968 280SL was purchased from the previous owner who was 91 at the time of purchase. He used to put it on his calendar to drive the car on the last Sunday of every month (weather permitting). This vehicle was under his care for the last 30 years before landing in our personal collection 2 years ago. Upon purchase of this car we had a major service and lots of deferred maintenance addressed at a cost of over $15,000. The car now runs and drives beautifully and is ready for a long trip at a moments notice. The soft top is in excellent shape, and we believe we were the first ones to actually put it up as the previous owner never removed the hardtop. The paint is showing it's age but other than that the car is in great shape. While the SL market has slowed down a bit the Pagodas are continuing to appreciate. |
